Grant Funding Opportunities
Modesto Rotary Club Foundation Community Grant Funding Priorities
The Modesto Rotary Club Foundation’s aim is to help organizations stretch and have bigger impact in Modesto. Organizations based outside Modesto may apply as long as proposed projects directly and exclusively benefit Modesto.
Grant Categories
The Modesto Rotary Club Foundation will support game-changing work across all program areas, and we especially encourage initiatives that support:
• Health and wellness
• Youth enrichment
• Community beautification
• Assist vulnerable families
Successful applications will demonstrate community need, and yield tangible and measurable results. Funds are available for program development/expansion, innovation, technology and equipment.
Grant Levels
Grant levels vary from year to year. Grant applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Applications will be accepted with the following dates of consideration:
• August 15th for consideration at the September meeting
• November 15th for consideration at the December meeting
• February 15th for consideration at the March meeting
• May 15th for consideration at the June meeting
Award amounts will be based on:
• Proposed project budget
• Scope of project
• Capacity of organization to successfully execute the project
Successful Applicants:
Successful applicants will be:
Nonprofit 501(c) 3 organizations, local government agencies, or faith-based organizations which demonstrate:
• Community need
• History of and/or commitment to working in Modesto
• Logical, reasonable and measurable goals, objectives, outcomes and evaluation methods • Feasibility and capacity to complete project within the one-year grant period, including timeline and budget
• Sustainability of the project after the grant period
Programs, Activities and Organizations Not Considered for Funding
• Fundraising event sponsorships, including but not limited to golf tournaments, gala dinners, awards luncheons, etc.
• Individual sports teams, including youth/amateur sports teams
• Individuals
• Religious organizations for religious purposes
• Partisan political activity
• Operational expenses or existing financial deficits
• School fundraising projects
